Commisioning

The adjustment and measurement of diffusers is an activity that requires experience. There are various accepted methods, each of which have specific advantages and disadvantages. The best and most accurate method is where a sensor, for instance an eXavol (see chapter 4), is fitted in or in front of each diffuser, or in every connection to a diffuser. A second acceptable method is to measure the velocities in the connection ducting using, for instance, a pitot tube or something similar. Measurements can also be taken on the diffuser itself, however, this method must be considered an approximation.
